The Taipei Kid

Rants/raves + false childhood memories

Chicago

I am currently wrapping up a vacation in Chicago. Here’s an exciting photo of Fullerton Station. I didn’t do that much except walk up and down N. Michigan and drink cans and cans of diet chocolate fudge soda. I didn’t bother going to the Sears Tower since Taipei has the world’s tallest building. For some reason, the Sears Tower seems a lot taller than Taipei 101. Maybe because of its color? The L train quickly became my friend, although it was a smelly, dirty, and slow friend, compared to my friend the MRT. Great food in Chicago, by the way.

Hey, I saw a picture of almost exactly the same scene, except it was created entirely in illustrator and photoshop:

Chicago is one of the greatest cities — despite the rough winters, its summers are perfect with great sailing on Lake Michigan, one of the country’s best art museums (with an awesome Impressionist collection), and an orchestra that regularly features A-list soloists. The summer concert program is excellent as well. Blues scene is awesome, and the food is wonderful — great ethnic neighborhoods with good food of nearly all types.
